The Disaster Date
Alisha had been single for far too long. According to her best friend, Meera, she was "one bad date away from adopting a cat farm." Determined to prove Meera wrong, Alisha finally agreed to a blind date set up by her overly enthusiastic cousin. Enter Karan—a tall, ruggedly handsome man with an irresistible dimpled smile. The only problem? Their first date was at an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Alisha had many strengths: intelligence, humor, and an uncanny ability to binge-watch an entire series in one night. Gracefulness, however, was not one of them. As she reached for a shrimp cocktail, her bracelet got caught on the serving tray, sending an avalanche of seafood flying into Karan’s lap.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry!” she shrieked, grabbing a napkin and attempting to dry his now fishy-smelling jeans.
“It’s fine, it’s fine,” Karan said, trying to maintain his composure while subtly sniffing himself.
But it wasn’t fine. Not when she knocked over a chocolate fountain moments later and successfully baptized his jacket in molten cocoa.
The Apology Date
Feeling like an absolute disaster, Alisha insisted on making it up to Karan by inviting him to dinner at her place. She wanted to impress him with her cooking skills—or, more accurately, her ability to order takeout and plate it nicely.
The plan was simple: dim lighting, soft music, and a meal that she would pretend she cooked herself. But life, as always, had other plans.
She had barely finished transferring the butter chicken from the delivery container into a fancy bowl when she heard a loud BOOM! Her neighbor's dog, a Great Dane named Lucifer (fitting name), had somehow barged into her apartment, bolting towards the dinner table like a possessed beast.
Before she could react, Lucifer devoured half the butter chicken, knocked over a chair, and burped in satisfaction before trotting out as if nothing happened.
Karan, arriving just in time to witness the chaos, laughed so hard that he nearly collapsed. “Is this a test to see if I can handle unpredictability?”
Alisha groaned. “I swear, my life is usually not this chaotic.”
“That’s a shame,” he teased. “I kinda like it.”
A Culinary Redemption
Determined to prove she wasn’t a complete culinary trainwreck, Alisha invited Karan for an actual homemade dinner. No takeout, no distractions—just a simple, elegant meal.
Except…cooking was not her forte.
After watching at least ten YouTube tutorials on making pasta, she felt confident. She even donned an apron and put on a playlist titled Seductive Cooking Jams. But halfway through boiling the spaghetti, disaster struck again. The pot overflowed, creating a mini flood. As she rushed to fix it, she accidentally set the corner of a dish towel on fire.
By the time Karan arrived, the apartment smelled like burnt regret.
“Tell me you at least didn’t burn the wine,” he joked, sniffing the air.
Alisha sighed dramatically. “If I say yes, will you still think I’m cute?”
He grinned. “I think you’re adorable no matter what.”
Love in the Mess
Despite all her blunders, Karan kept showing up. He seemed to enjoy the unpredictability of being with Alisha, whether it was dodging flying shrimp or surviving a dog invasion.
One night, as they sat on her couch, eating ice cream straight from the tub (because she had accidentally broken all the bowls), Karan looked at her with a smirk.
“You know, I never thought I’d fall for someone who’s a walking disaster, but here we are.”
Alisha scoffed. “I am not a walking disaster. I’m… just cursed in the kitchen.”
“And in restaurants. And around dogs. And in general.”
She threw a pillow at him, laughing. “Fine, maybe a little. But you’re still here, so what does that say about you?”
He leaned in, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “It says I’m completely in love with you.”
And just like that, the biggest disaster of her life turned into the greatest love story she never saw coming.
